What is a .png file?

I try to make my products as user friendly as possible. A good number of my embellishment downloads are saved as .png files. The reason I save graphics in this format is because it is a common image format that allows you to have a transparent background.

If there is a "blank" background on a jpg file it is usually actually white. This works great for papers that are square files but some embellishments are easier to use if they have a clear background.

png images are very common file format that is compatible with most image editing programs including: Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP, Microsoft's Paint, Apple iPhoto and Apple Preview.
